Welcome to St. Vital
Community Review
ST. Vital is almost entirely residential with a slight Francophone flavor. This area has a semi rural history which accounts for some of the large treed lots that are sprinkled throughout St. Vital.
The University of Manitoba is located just across the river and downtown Winnipeg is easily and quickly accessed by three major routes.
St Vital Park (one of Winnipeg’s largest city park) is nestled on the bank of the Red River. This park provides a host of activities and is a great example of how man and nature can splendidly co-exist. There is always something to do at St. Vital Park- in all seasons. Maple Grove Park is also located on the river and is well used by many sporting groups.
The area is rich with history; Louis Riel House is one example.
Housing Types and Prices
The majority of the housing is single family detached; however there is fair amount of side by sides, townhouses and condominiums available in a variety of styles. Prices vary widely as St. Vital contains the little old houses through to the 1960-2008 developments and up to the estates like that are tucked away on large treed lots near St. Vital Park.
The lowest sale price on multiple listing services in 2007 was $64,500 (for a 794 sq ft bungalow that had no basement). The highest price sale was $1,236,000 for a 4808 sq ft two story home on a river lot.
