River Heights is made of up two regions. North and South River Heights. North River Heights offers turn of the century homes with a variety of architectural styles and details. Homes in this area were built between 1900 – 1940’s.

South River Heights ( South of Corydon Ave) offers homes that were built during the 1940's, 50's, and 60's.

River Heights offers large lot sizes as well as detached parking with back lane access for all properties.

Housing Types & Costs

The style of houses found here include; Two Storey, Bungalows, 1 ½, 1 ¾, 2 ½ Storey homes. River Heights also contains a large number of Condominiums projects, Duplexes and Side by Sides.

Homes in this area sell for a wide range from $150,000 up to $1 million+.

Condominiums start at around $80,000 and go up to $500,000.


Schools and Local Amenities

River Heights is part of Winnipeg School District #1. River Heights has 8 elementary schools, 4 religious private schools (one Christian, two Hebrew, one Mennonite), and secondary students go to nearby Grant Park High school.

Shopping

River Heights offers a wide range of shopping experiences from upscale boutiques and specialty shops to major shopping centre such as Grant Park Shopping Centre. There are numerous smaller service malls that offer a variety of services and products.

Recreation

This area is one of the best in the city for recreation. At the corner of Grant and Cambridge there is the Pan Am Aquatic Centre and athletic field. The Kinsmen Recreation and Fitness Centre are located on Taylor Ave. The River Heights Community Centre at 1370 Grosvenor Avenue offers numerous outdoor activities for all age groups year round. The Assiniboine Park, one of Winnipeg’s most popular public parks hosts a number of walking trails, open green space, as well as the formal gardens and the famous Assiniboine Zoo; located just minutes away.
