Community Overview

This community is located on the west side of Pembina highway and is just minutes from the sprawling University of Manitoba campus other popular venues. This development consists of mostly single family homes with a few condominum projects on the borders. Richmond West offers easy access to the perimeter Hwy, Pembina Hwy , Waverley St and Route #90 making this area appealing for people who have to commute in or around the city centre. Kirkbridge Park is located in the heart of the community offering everything from outdoor organized sporting events to walking trials and children play ground. The neighbouring community of Fort Richmond extends additional educational and recreational services to the residents of Richmond West.


Housing Types & Costs


The style of houses found here includes; bungalows, two storey, bi-levels and split level homes. Homes in this area sell in a range from $200,000 up to $600,000. with the majority priced around the $300,000 mark.


Richmond West also offers a select number of condominiums projects. Condo styles available are apartment style, townhouse and bungalow. With apartment & townhouse style being the most prominent in the area.

Condominiums sales start at around $100,000 and up to $500,000.


Schools and Amenities

Pembina Trails School Division manages this community’s schools. There is one elementary school in the area with the remaining schools being located in near by Fort Richmond. The schools in this area are located close together and include all levels of education from Kindergaden up to grade 12.

Shopping

Pembina Highway offers a wide variety of strip mall shops and services. The Fort Richmond Plaza Mall offers a Safeway and Zellers, while Pembina Village Mall offers a Safeway as well as a nice variety of specialty shops and services. The Real Canadian Superstore is located at Bison Drive & Shore Street on the North end of the development.


Recreation

This community does not have any recreation facilities however organized sporting events and activities are often held at the Fort Richmond community centre venues. Fort Richmond has a number of indoor and outdoors recreation facilities. King’s Park is the area’s largest community riverside park that hosts a number of sport activities and events throughout the year. The Fort Richmond Community Centre offers both indoor and outdoor sports. There is a second rink located at Dalhousie & Ryerson. The Margaret Grant indoor swimming pool has been an important recreation facility that has been used by many families though out the years.
