Community Overview

Lindenwoods is a residential community that was started in 1982 to service the growing demand for executive family homes in South Winnipeg. The centre point of this community is the lake in which a number of surrounding streets showcase custom homes with walk out basements. Throughout the community there are walking paths and extensive green space which make this neighbourhood one of the most sought after communities for professionals with growing families.


Housing Types & Costs

The style of houses found here includes; two storey, bungalows, cab-overs and split-level homes. Lindenwoods also offers a large number of condominiums projects. Condo Styles available are bungalow, townhouse and apartment style. Homes in this area sell in a range from $250,000 up to $1 million.
Condominiums start at around $100,000 and go up to $500,000.


Schools and Local Amenities

The schools in Lindenwoods are managed by the Pembina Trails School Division. Lindenwoods has two schools Linden Meadows (K-S1) and Van Walleghem (K-8 French Immersion). For students attending high school there are a few options for schools (see link below). The South Winnipeg Technical Centre is within minutes and the neighbouring university of Manitoba is only 10 minutes by car.

Shopping

There is a number of shopping venues in the area. Big box retailers are aligned along Route #90 & McGillvary Blvd offering a wide selection of products and price points.

Some of the bigger retailers include: Wal-Mart, Safeway, Sobeys, Home Depot, Revy, Costco, Home Outfitters etc. In addition to retail services there are a number of resturants in the area such as The Keg, Boston Pizza, Pasta La Vista, Moxie’s Classic Grill, Shogun Japanese Restaurant plus many more.


Recreation

Lindenwoods has a recreation centre that offers a wide variety of outdoor activities year round. There are numerous walking paths and large areas green space making this area ideal for families that need room to roam. Surrounding the community of Lindenwoods are a number of other fitness/ activity venues such as the Pan Am Aquatic Centre, The Kinsmen Refit Centre, The Winnipeg Soccer complex, The Rady Centre (http://www.radyjcc.com/), with the most impressive being the Assiniboine Park with a flurry of daily activity. The Assinboine Park is home to number Pathways, water features, formal gardens and greenhouses. This park is home to the famous Winnipeg Zoo and host a series of summer events that are attended by many.
